Casa Setaro
Casa Setaro was born in Campania , on the slopes of Vesuvius , from the initiative of a family that with great dedication has been able to revolutionize the style and perception of Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio Doc , declining the vinification of Aglianico , Falanghina ( Campania Igt) and Piedirosso (Vesuvio Doc), also bringing back into vogue native vines at risk of extinction, such as Caprettone .
The Setaro family begins to devote itself to the cultivation of grapes and their transformation, in a sustainable and identifying way, through that wealth of knowledge and ancient knowledge handed down from Vincenzo to his son Massimo Setaro . His wife Maria Rosaria flanked and supported him : together they safeguard the history of Vesuvian viticulture with loving tailoring .
The production takes place in full respect of the environment, with a range of eclectic wines that are consistent with the company philosophy. All are representative wines of a Vesuvius steeped in memory . But always with an eye to innovation and the future .
Casa Setaro is located in Trecase, in the province of Naples, in the Vesuvius National Park, since 1995 it has been a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
It is a story that has always been linked to the set of three elements: the volcanic soil, the climate mitigated by the sea of the Gulf of Naples and the meticulous experience of a family, committed to handing down the love and respect for viticulture from father to son.
This heritage of genetically unique values and ungrafted vines is the starting point for producing a range of high quality wines with a strong identity.
Everything comes from the care and wholesomeness of the raw material: without quality grapes it is not possible to produce excellent wines.
For Casa Setaro, love for wine is like love for our sons. Each bunch of grapes must grow with the same benevolent dedication: to do well today and to do well tomorrow.
Casa Setaro does not use herbicides and chemical fertilizers , and cultivates organically. Environmental sustainability and excellent grapes are pursued with the good practices adopted for some time in the vineyard, paying attention and cleanliness in each step. This is the only way to obtain healthy and ripe grapes, reducing the environmental impact to zero .
The desire to obtain a quality capable of growing over time finds an important ally in biodiversity . The interaction of the vines and the different biotypes with the individual terroirs within the Vesuvius National Park , each with its own microclimate and exposure, allows for singular productions, each characterized by its own and unrepeatable identity.
Casa Setaro aims at the enhancement and conservation of native varieties.
